Much of second language acquisition occurs by implicit learning

Target audience: intermediate learners.

Learners acquire language while their primary focus is not on the language itself but on the message the language is conveying. This incidental acquisition ( [[ Implicit learning]]) occurs with all [[Subsystems of language ]].

Just how much of Second language acquisition is occurs implicitly is a matter of controversy. See [[ Implicit and explicit learning in second language acquisition ]].
